This is my third review for Hankey’s Toys and I’m beginning to sound like a broken record: these toys are excellent! They’re well made, well-priced investment pieces, each one a work of art. The design team at Hankey’s is absolutely crushing it when it comes to executing on their unique and creative visions, and the Sex Machine Dildo is no exception. Prior to the Sex Machine, I had exactly zero futuristic dildos. Nothing related to machines, science or anything else from the human-made world. All my toys are abstract/fantasy, lifelike, or something more or less found in nature. But the Sex Machine has opened up a whole new world of sci-fi possibilities …
Get To Know The Sex Machine
This is a fabulous dildo. It’s so incredibly detailed with what looks like some sort of aerospace engineering; ridges and bumps come compliments of what looks like pistons and valves (?) and it has a plated, almost armour-like feel to it. The top side and underside are unique to one another and the profile boasts a gentle curve that is easy to accommodate. The tip is very ‘human’, a smooth mushroom-like glans, its corona flanked with mechanical details. Whatever these shapes and textures represent, they are a delight.
Aesthetically, the Sex Machine is very cyborg, very futuristic, very elegant. It’s designed to feel substantial and it’s length:girth equation is what I would call perfect. This is not a slim, beginner dildo. This is a chonky dong with as much texture and variety as you could ever ask for. Lucky for us, it comes in 4 sizes with the small boasting an insertable length of 20 cm (8″) and it’s girthiest point is 21 cm (8.25″). I recommend that when ordering your Sex Machine, you read the dimensions carefully! Likewise, you can have your Sex Machine in 4 different textures/degrees of hardness. I opted for medium, and it is the perfect level of resistance and give. If you’re like me and you like a fairly rigid dildo that still isn’t “hard”, opt for the “medium firm” option. Hankey’s “soft” is quite soft, so unless you like a lot of squish, aim for the more firm options.
Practically Made for Mechanophilia!
If you have a thing for robots, cyborgs, and other sci-fi fantasies involving mechanical things, you might be into mechanophilia! It’s a kink and/or fetish that focuses on the attraction to and adoration of mechanical objects. But never fear, the Sex Machine is for more than just the mechanophiles, anyone can get into the textured surfaces and superior curve of the Sex Machine. For me personally, mechanical and science-y stuff doesn’t turn me on, however, it’s a really attractive dildo and despite not being into it thematically, I really appreciate the design and the level of detail. Hankey’s sculpts are gorgeous and so full of minute details, ridges, and grooves, you’ll be beyond satisfied with the feel even if the look of it is not your usual go-to.
To be fair, this toy did spark some “what ifs” regarding futuristic fantasies. I won’t bore you with the details but my imagination was certainly sparked by this aesthetically gorgeous, robo dildo. What would sex with a machine be like? What does it feel like to be attracted to or aroused by something human made but non-human? If nothing else it got me thinking. I don’t think I’ll be identifying as a mechanophile any time soon, but I do appreciate toys that make me think and make me ask questions. The Sex Machine did just that.
Things To Know About The Sex Machine
As mentioned, this is a sizable toy, so make sure you know what you’re ordering. The Hankey’s website warns: “Due to the nature of our products, there are no returns on orders unless defective. Please pay attention to the dimensions carefully and don’t let your eyes get greedier than your hole!”
- The texture of the Sex Machine is achieved through grooves and ridges, and while its overall a smooth dildo, those nooks and crannies will need particular attention when cleaning.
- My Sex Machine is in Gun Metal Grey, but you can choose from 25 colours and the option to make yours metallic. Likewise you can add a Vac-U-Hole in the base so it can be used with a suction cup.
- I did not try the Sex Machine in a strap-on harness because I did not have a big enough O ring to accommodate its chunky base, but I suspect that it might be a bit awkward as a strap-on because the details at the base make it a bit uneven, though plenty flared enough for anal use.
Bang For Your Buck
All of Hankey’s Toys are handmade in the USA from 100% body-safe silicone. Each colour is hand mixed and the toys are individually hand poured making each one a unique piece of art. In my Mystical Unicorn Dildo Review I mentioned that it’s so cute that it’s a shame to hide it in a drawer and not have it on display. While the Sex Machine is more overtly a dildo, it would look great in and around action figures, a sci fi movie collection, etc. The quality of Hankey’s Toys is superb and their designs are epically cool and unique. Another fun fact: all of Hankey’s Toys are vegan!
The Sex Machine starts at $129.95 (USD) and in my educated opinion of sex toys, particularly silicone dildos, it is absolutely worth every penny. If you add this toy to your collection, be prepared for it to be in regular rotation because I am confident you, like me, will adore the Sex Machine.
It’s Definitely A Fawkes’ Fave
You’d think that after testing and reviewing dozens of dildos over the years, that they’d all start to seem the same, but toys like the Sex Machine, and frankly, any of Hankey’s Toys, keep things fresh and interesting. Like with the Hankey’s Toys Scorpion Sex Grinder I am so glad that I tried something that wasn’t as obviously appealing to me as other designs, because in the end, I absolutely LOVE the Sex Machine and I can’t recommend it to you enough. It’s fun and interesting, beautifully made, body-safe, and will last you a lifetime.
