Ready or Not, Locktober Is Coming

For anyone in the chastity community, October means one thing: Locktober. This month-long event has become a playful challenge and rite of passage for people who enjoy chastity play, whether they’re experienced keyholders and wearers or just curious about trying it for the first time.

What Is Locktober?

The premise is simple: stay locked for the entire month of October. For some, that means strict chastity with no releases until November. For others, it’s more about committing to the headspace of denial, restraint, and erotic control for the month, regardless of the exact length of wear.

What makes Locktober special is that it brings the global chastity community together. Social media feeds fill up with photos, journaling, encouragement, and humour from participants. It’s a way to connect with others who share your interest, compare experiences, and celebrate the fun (and sometimes frustration) of long-term lockups.

If you’re thinking about joining in, now is the time to prepare:

  • Make sure your device fits comfortably and securely.
  • Discuss expectations, limits, and safewords with your partner or keyholder.
  • Stock up on lube, cleaning supplies, and anything you need for good hygiene and comfort during extended wear.

Locktober can be as light-hearted or as intense as you want to make it. The challenge isn’t necessarily about proving anything to anyone, it’s about exploring your own desires, boundaries, and relationship to control and pleasure.
