Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it’s times like these when we all need to hear the radio
‘Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it’s times like these when we all need to hear the radio
‘Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know
Thinking about how songs and lyrics can be so comforting when you’re sad. Got some sad news yesterday, still thinking about it. It’s no one’s fault, and it can’t be helped, simply circumstances that didn’t work out as hoped. My instinct is to push the pain of it away, bury it, burn it. But the only way out is through. So I’ll sit with it and crank some Elton and let myself cry.
Lyrics are from Sad Songs Say So Much by Elton John. Listen here.
