Toy Review: The Bumpy Betty Vibrator

Well, we may as well just jump into the thick of it: The Bumpy Betty Vibrator, was, at best, a bumpy ride for me. I want to love all the toys I’m sent to review, and for the most part I do, but Bumpy Betty is not my new bestie. It should go without saying that simply because I didn’t particularly enjoy this toy that is not to say it’s a terrible product; it simply wasn’t one that worked for me. As much as it has some universally promising features, they did not work for my body and they may or may not work for yours.

Details

At just over 6 inches in length, The Bumpy Betty Vibrator is a semi rigid, tongue-shaped toy that is good for shallow insertion and clit stimulation with 7 different functions from steady vibration to variable patterns. The insertable portion is silicone and the other housing is ABS plastic. I found Betty to be very quiet and very comfortable in my hand.

My Experience

I am absolutely a packaging snob, I’ll admit it. I enjoy things arriving in nice boxes, I love when toys come with their own soft storage bags, etc. The Bumpy Betty Vibrator arrived in a clear clamshell type package, which doesn’t add much flair or luxury to an already somewhat comedic design. Aesthetically it looks like a novelty item vs a serious sex toy, and for me, I found it performed that way too.

I need to be clear, this toy is well made and not shoddy in terms of craftsmanship. It’s plastic and silicone were well finished, no harsh seams, the buttons worked well and it does have a pleasing number of varied modes. The big issue for me was power. It’s simply not a strong motor and the 2xAAA batteries don’t give it enough juice to do much more than buzz at a high frequency that I personally found over stimulating and underwhelming.

Betty is advertised as a gspot toy and I will agree that the curve of the vibe and the precision tip were definitely gspot friendly, and if that’s a priority, this may be a good for for you.

Why you’ll love this toy

  • loads of texture and sensation
  • gspot compatible
  • comfortable to hold and maneuver
  • 2 AAA batteries means no cords or USB sources needed

bang for your buck

At $24.95  this is a decent starter vibe that isn’t a huge investment. Likewise because of it’s novelty shape and appearance it could make a good bachelorette gift.
